Because the Order is ecumenical, we do not enforce a particular theology. While we all wish to serve the Universe and follow the Great Maker, we may have different concepts of these. In this we look to the example of the One, for Valen (whom Zathras followed back in time) had fundamental disagreements with Minbari theology, yet he was able to work with them, and even be a great leader among them.
Although the Order is the Sisters of Zathras, the Order does not discriminate on the basis of sex. Thus, males (or whatever other sexes may exist in the universe) are permitted to join.
Whoever would enter this Order should spend time in thoughtful meditation, for it is not an easy path to follow. Zathra have sad life, probably have sad death, but at least there is symmetry. The Sisters of Zathras have suffered persecution at the hands of the Narn Bat Squad. Will you follow us into fire, into death, into the life of a beast of burden?
Upon completion of the probationary period (it is traditional to provide a period a silence and mediation before replying to the request of one who would join), the initiate much choose a new first name to reflect her new life. There are many possible names, such as Zathra, Zathra, or even Zathra (some have even used Zathra). The new sister is addressed as "Sister Zathra" and may also use a given name. Members may use the initials "O.S.Z." after their names to indicate the Order of the Sisters of Zathras.
Males who join are addressed as "Brother Sister Zathras" and possibly a given name. "Brothers of Zathras" should be reserved for Zathras' actual brothers--after all, we wouldn't want to confuse anyone by using a similar name.
